![]() I have used Ghost since version 1.00 that was not symantec. ![]() ![]() You can pick out individual files from a Ghost Image with Ghost explorer. This forum is however not the Symantec Ghost Support site. Using Ghost with WINPE or UBCD requires GHOST32.EXE and NTFS Destinations which do not have the FAT32 Limitation on file size. There are other issues associated with Media Direct Ghost -split 2047 would be the minimum required parameters.Īnd the complete story of all the partitions here: Ghost 8.3 is what Dell uses for WIN9X DOSĬontrol F11 or NTFS PE Image AKA Norton Ghost 10 Control F11 Images. GHOST 7.5 or greater would be required for Drives larger than 80 gigs. To maintain on a Bootable WIN98 DOS/FAT32 Flash drive or DVD or would require ghosting an entire drive as single GHO file with GHS extended files for every 2GIGS. Largest File on a FAT32 Partition is a bit less than 4 gigs. Or better yet, could I Ghost the old installation to a 3rd drive, install the drivers somewhere in the windows folder there, and then ghost it back to the new 500g drive? Is there some way to get the proper drivers installed on the ghosted images and then bring them back to my new expanded hard drive?Ĭould I merely install the drivers to the original 80g hard drive installation and then ghost it back to the 500g drive? Now I am confronted with the proposition that I have to reinstall all the software that is present in the Ghost7 images. Thanks to Rockstar natakuc4 who produced this wiki I learned what had to be done and it worked like a charm! I learned after making several versions of the image that the STA driver on the windows need to be updated by slipstreaming the drivers to a new install disk. I swapped out an 80g HDD for a 500g HHD and planned to use ghost 7 on a UBCDwin to bring the image back.
